Also I didn't like the tone of her article at all. She kept like gatekeeping mental illness. I grew up with a severely mentally ill mother and suffered from suicidal depression in college and I'm still kind of not 100% right in the head but like that doesn't give me some magical insight into the human condition or mental illness or anything. The shit he was saying was fucked up even by mentally unwell people standards. Pretending that she understood him in an extra special way because she was also mentally ill and you neurotypical normies just don't "get it" is dumb and also she clearly didn't "get it" either because he murdered 9 people and she couldn't believe it.
