I suppose. The bill requires a 2/3 majority though and it isn't looking like a sure win. The only thing I don't like about the bill is by the time it goes into effect, they'll already be pushing for LED bulbs to replace the CFLs, and by then they've already poured a shitload of money into CFLs.
You have to be retarded to not use CFLs/LEDs. They'll save you hundreds of dollars per year. The government wouldn't have to push shit like this if people weren't retarded.

It doesn't have to be. I bought a full case of daylight-color, full spectrum CFL bulbs in 2007 and they've been excellent.

I forget. I think each bulb ended up between $3 and $4, but only after buying ~40 of them ;-)
