I don't like to use self check out, because I'm not getting paid to do their job for them. In the checkout line I stand in my own world, observing how people freak out after only 3 minutes of waiting, and after exchanging awkward conversation and ignoring the glares as I use the wrong options with my card, I like to walk quickly past whoever's at the door and bask in the simple joy of not being someone else's slave, and wonder if they're going to get a reprimand for not scanning my reciept
