My dad died of cancer when I was pretty young. I got lucky that it was during my infancy years, my mom had to live with her husband dying slowly before her eyes, must have been rough.
I have family in Kansas, but when one of them moved to Texas where I had been living, I kept getting brushed off, I must obviously be the black sheep of the family.
I have a half brother somewhere in Cali/Nevada that is a chef for restaurants, but I fell out of contact with him a decade ago.

Don't you think it's time to look him up.

Why specifically? I met him in 2006, but we didn't keep in touch

Have you considered a career in his field.

I invited her to stop by the coffee shop I worked at, and had sent her my number so we could catch up, and it seemed to me like she was interested in maintaining contact, but I never had any further communication with her. Oh well though, I am a felon with a spotty work record, and I've definitely made my mom's life hell, in my youth and even as an adult, although to a lesser extent. So I understand why most of my family doesn't seem to care.

The kind you get when you exchange a blowjob for a subway sandwich

No, I figured there were enough food places around where I worked that we could grab something or whatever. I'm not big into planning, and at the time I was working a lot, so I figured people like coffee and tea, so it would be a neutral setting where I wouldn't have to pay to hang out with my cousin.

Yeah the conversation kina died off after a few exchanges, and I kinda got the hint she didn't really want to meet up so I didn't push it.
And it was white collar, I probably posted about it, but I don't care to rehash it if I don't have to.
