Did he bother to learn a more correct form of French? I wood imagine so - All those wasted years in School to learn a very few other languages one wood hope so.
I do remember when he was going for PhD in languages and failed That - Failure has been his only option work wise. A few here will remember his cries to Becky about how horrid teaching was while in China and how much he hated only being able to find work as teacher.
