What was there to justify? He was talking about the significant progress in race relations the U.S. had made in his lifetime (because he's an America-hating race baiter) and followed it up with something like "But racism isn't over just because you can't say 'nigger' in public anymore."
Which all seems...unobjectionable to me. I'm not sure what justification is needed.
Also it wasn't on national radio unless you consider a comedian's podcast national radio.
