They would call everyone else racist as a defense. It's pretty much the first page in the playbook.

Well, I have to look at the word. I mean, I don’t know what word you’re talking about. You wouldn’t want me to condemn a word that I know nothing about. I would have to look. If you would send me a list of the words, I will do research on them. And, certainly, I would disavow if I thought there was something wrong.

My guess: "Well, the root of the word is negro which only means black, so the word is not racist."

I wish he would refer to black people as coloreds.
Like "Some of the coloreds are great people"

"I just listened to the John Lennon song Woman is the Nigger of the World. What? That's the title."

President Trump frequently used the word “nigger” while he was the host of the reality television show “Celebrity Apprentice,” and there are tapes that can confirm it, according to a new memoir by one of Mr. Trump’s former White House advisers, Omarosa Manigault Newman.
Though, despite using it "frequently" and spending some years around Trump, Omarosa never actually heard Trump say the word:
Of the offensive racial epithet, Ms. Manigault Newman says that she never heard Mr. Trump use the word herself, a point that critics are certain to cite to challenge her credibility. But she says that by the time she was fired by the White House chief of staff, John F. Kelly, she had come to realize that Mr. Trump was a “racist.”
So after like ten years of working for and around Trump, she only realizes he's a racist after she gets fired.
Of course like all fake news there's no actual source:
Frank Luntz, the veteran Republican pollster who Ms. Manigault Newman says was believed to have told people he heard Mr. Trump utter the epithet, posted on Twitter to deny that had happened and to point out that he had not been contacted by the author.

@1,018,644 (A) > Trump supporters. Like their cult leader, they refuse to read.
They'll only believe it if someone can spell it out in memes on a chan site, so they may never figure it out.

If Obama used the N' word... wait, sorry, WHEN Obama used the N' word on national radio, how did his supporters justify it?

It would vary between types of supporters.
Rank-and-file supporters: try to claim that it isn't really a racist word, and language policing is the bigger problem anyway.
Republican Congresspeople: stay quiet, maybe look at the floor and mumble something about how they don't necessarily agree with the President on everything. Would block any attempt to rebuke him, even symbolically.
Racist lunatics: masturbate wildly while chanting MAGA.
