@previous (B)The brotherhood of steel, BOS for short, is a military organization that formed out of a US military unit which defected from the US government after finding out they were guarding a biological research lab which experimented on humans. It's survived for more than 200 years in post apocalyptic America and has arguably prevented a second apocalypse. They don't trust the safety of technology and would rather have most of it under their own control, some they wouldn't want under anyone's control, even themselves. This includes robots that pass for humans.
