Some sort of miniature tub of cake-flavoured ice cream with sprinkles and blue icing swirls. Bit smaller than a sideways soda can, it was.

Garden soup. I make a lot of different varieties of this, depending on what's being harvested and what I have on hand in the kitchen, but tonights soup is a tried and true recipe.
Garden fresh green beans, onions, and golden potatoes, all chopped add water until covering all vegetables about a 1/2 inch over. Add Mexican tomato seasoning to taste and 6-8 cloves of garlic (diced), cook for 6-8 hours in crockpot. During the last hour take a package of bacon, fry it up to perfection, add a little bacon grease to soup, chop all bacon and add that too.
Fuckin' delicious man.

I might try this but instead of onion and green beans I was thinking of carrots and broccoli.

The broccoli would (nearly) completely fall apart in the crockpot when cooked that long, if you're using chopped/frozen broccoli add it in the last two hours, whole broccoli the last 3 hours (if you want bigger chunks). I rarely use broccoli for anything other than god-tier cheese soup.

Yah, no one in my family can really cook for shit, so I started learning pretty early on and took naturally to it. I've mastered a lot of things, even some foreign foods (mostly Asian), but I can't bake for shit, and I've never made a chili I'm satisfied with. I mostly enjoy cooking for other people, cooking for yourself is meh, which is why I cook a lot of soups for myself and eat that for 2-3 days.

Do you like venison? I enjoy using it often as a base. I also like frying things occasionally. What's your opinion on seafood?

Love venison! I don't do any hunting myself, but people hook me up with venison once in awhile, I do all kinds of stuff with it, jerkies, stews, roasted. I like experimenting with it, its so much different from beef, it can be a challenge, but definitely pays off when you get it right. Seafood is one of my favorite foods, but its so expensive where I live I've never really cooked with it outside of shrimp, love me a shrimp boil, Old Bay powdered seasoning is the best I've found for it.

Dude when I was in the Keys a couple weeks ago I had the best seafood. All I ate the whole time was Mahi Mahi and a billion combinations of conch. Fuck it was so good.

Yah, but you live by the ocean, I'm sure its reasonably price. Around here it cost like $8 a lb for the shittiest of fish meat to cook with, and seafood restaurants are few and far between. I jelly.

Do you own a smoker? I was wondering if you ever smoke your meats you get.

I do, but I only smoke stuff about once a year, usually an apple/hickory wood ham, I'll probably give brisket a shot next. Smoking meats is fairly expensive, which is fine, but I won't do a lot of it until I've mastered the process, as its kinda difficult figuring out what combo of woods goes with which meat best, and keeping it an even/steady, smoke/temp throughout the whole cooking time.
