I heard once something about how some covert Russian military operation got exposed in Crimea because despite their disguise, the soldiers wore double socks and apparently this is what the elite Russian soldiers do. I always do this, it's simply just better.

Soldiers wear two pairs of socks to reduce friction to prevent blisters. For optimum performance while tabbing/yomping, wear FIVE pairs of socks. The Russians will never see it coming.

Huh, apparently Russian soldiers actually did only use footwraps (seriously?) until very recently and I have no idea where i heard this story from but I'm going to start wearing five pairs of socks from now on.
