Why do you find it so impossible to invoke Occam's Razor and suppose just for one second that the reason he's not behind bars right now is because he's innocent? Why is it more likely that a panel of legal experts bungled the case, or that there's some conspiracy, or that the Russian government has infiltrated the White House, or whatever it is you think?

If there was some bullshit witch hunt going on, in which you were accused of this sort of treason, and you knew you were innocent, would you not also treat the whole thing with the utter contempt it deserves? I would also fire somebody who went behind my back and made my situation worse instead of supporting me.
