Telling brown people, who are natural born Americans, to return to their crappy countries, and only telling brown people? Gee.

Hey, I didn't make the video, I'm just sharing it here to get a feel for what people think of it. Why so rude?

He did NOT say for them to go back to their country.

> crappy countries
I'm confused: are countries like Haiti and Somalia wonderful countries and therefore Trump was wrong for calling them "shithole countries", or is it a humanitarian crisis not to let immigrants from those countries into America, because conditions there are so bad??? ?

I mean I see two contradictory statements:

1) Haiti, El Salvador, Somalia, etc, are not "shitholes" but actually wonderful places.

2) We have to let people from the above countries immigrate to America without limit, because conditions in those countries are so terrible.

I don't see how you can believe both at once.

These statements were awful even by his standards. But he will get away with it as usual, and his legion of cronies and sympathetic media will bend over backwards to excuse it.

What a grand time we live in.

Nobody is suggesting either of those things. Perhaps #2 in some limited form, but I definitely not #1.

Sources for either, pls?

I wouldn't quite say the media is sympathetic. Granted, there are some media outlets that have a pro-Trump and/or pro-Republican bias (these are things that often overlap but are not the same thing - for an example consider the National Review which has a pro-Republican but anti-Trump bias) but I would say the media is at least 2/3rds anti-Trump. Meaning not so much that the stories they have on him will be literally untrue, but rather that anything Trump says or does will consistently be presented in the worst possible light.

Why is nobody talking about how disgusting and racist those 4 democrats were being, in particular the one from shithole Somalia? Nobody ever quotes their antisemitic bilge.

Ilhan Omar did get a bit of negative press a while back when it was discovered that she had tweeted "Israel has hypnotized the world, may Allah awaken the people and help them see the evil doings of Israel #Gaza #Palestine #Israel" 7 years ago, before she got into politics. IIRC she ended up apologizing and deleted the tweet and now all is forgiven.

Not just 7 years ago - it was almost certainly her more recent remarks about AIPAC that angered Trump, culminating with "It's all about the Benjamins, baby" (i.e. the only Jewish motivation is money... which, though true I suppose, is not something you say if you are a representative). She hasn't just been upsetting the GOP - many senior Democrats were also annoyed with her, to the extent that they passed a resolution in March to condemn anti-Semitism. As a freshman she should know her place, shut up and learn how to behave.

ADL Condemns President Trump's Racist Tweets and His Use of Israel and Jews as a Shield

The ADL (Anti-Defamation League) today condemned President Trump’s racist tweets about four U.S. congresswomen, in which he said they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” and his defense of these remarks by saying the congresswomen hate Israel and are anti-Semitic.

“As Jews, we are all too familiar with this kind of divisive prejudice,” said Jonathan Greenblatt, ADL CEO and National Director. “While ADL has publicly disagreed with these congresswomen on some issues, the president is echoing the racist talking points of white nationalists and cynically using the Jewish people and the state of Israel as a shield to double down on his remarks. Politicizing the widespread, bipartisan support for Israel and throwing around accusations of anti-Semitism is damaging to the security of Israel and the Jewish community. He should lead by example, stop politicizing these issues and stop smearing members of Congress.”
