really all depends where you are inside of it.
and sometimes one street is nice, and another is ugly. or maybe one block is ugly but the rest is nice or vice versa. and there's cities that aren't los angeles but still "LA". they can range from ritzy homes on hills like La Canada Flintridge, to slummy crappy places like Tujunga (where I live, actually part of los angeles) to futuristic cities with modern architecture like santa monica. and then there are places that aren't really special in one way or another, like... I dunno east LA
its as diverse as the people that live here.
