Time to get ready for what is supposed to be a quick meeting. I have multiple terrific events to share re encounters with wild animals. Only animal larger than me which I came FULLY face to face with that was larger than Thee was a Sea Lion. I dove into a wave in late October at a beach party wife and I put together in Santa Monica and new it wood be the last swim of the season. No one else wanted to hit that cold water so I did that alone. That moment of decision to take the Dive fully into a wave and then I hit something odd Face2Face with lite smash in2 Face. We the Sea Lion and Thee came up for air and Damn just DAMN - Our Eyes met and then the two of us remained for about 15-2O mins in the water 2Gether - Swam parallel to each other. I wood slowly reach out to touch and it wood just as Slowly pull away so I could not touch - I ended saying goodby cause water was just COLD - Beach party folks were at waters edge watching this in total - no cameras so no picsOne of my coolest animal contacts in wild.
Ask me about my most stupid Animal face to face EVER - Truly dumb as all fuck and could have been DEADLY Very Deadly or worse.
Another still haunts me to this day as - because at the time I was not bothered when I discovered what that Beast Waz - and for years it never bothered me - Then in the news including in the last two weeks very close to Qualcomm was One more Attack by such animal in the news and now it chills me that I was just inches away from such beast for 3 hours

This Canyon is 6.5 miles from Qualcomm's main campus where from I just returned.
My encounter was many a year ago while still married - Decided to take a Solo trip in Sequoia National Park - Just one overnight or two - Full Moonlight was the plan and a permit was required at ranger station but when I got there two hours early the station was closed so I left a note about the campground I was going to - This was a backpack trip not a mountain climb. I fully expected Moonlight - Alas the Angle of Full Moon was low to the Horizon and a Mountain blocked all of that during the three hours - Trip miles took 4hours but I was just Spooked for about 3.0 miles of that trip.
I kept taking off my back pack and used a flash light but could not see ANYTHING Odd - I kept feeling something was with me along the way but just could not see anything - I failed to take a close look at the ground!
Finally I was just exhausted and not that many miles so it was all Mental - I gave up on getting to the legal campground and off trail camping is Illegal. Nevertheless I found a nice rock outcropping and made quick camp and fell asleep with help of some Cognac. In the AM a ranger kicked my foot to wake me up and I figured I was in trouble BUTTTTT Ranger said get dressed cause I need to show you something
He showed me the Lion Tracks on the ground along with my footsteps - He said the Lion was along side of me for the total of the trip I took.
American Indians consider this a GOOD Omen - I was mildly startled but felt really GREAT about this Event - Only years later does it Spook me - Currently there is an increase of Cougar Attacks - Used to be ultra rare - In fact it was a Full 25 years of time in mountains before I saw a tail later a body and later a full Lion at a distance each time - Have been on a couple of trips with friends where we found fresh tracks in wet sand and I MEAN FRESH Tracks - We go into a canyon and come out and then see Tracks that were not there b4 -
No one will read this butttt feels good to tell this and I have B4 including here on MC in the wayyyy Past.

I saw Syntax at a grocery store in Cardiff By The Sea yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Footprints in the sand
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."
He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
