I made a reddit post but didn't get a clear answer so though I would ask you.
I'm asking on behalf of my American friend who could be making a mistake.
My friend got married in the UK to a Norwegian lady around 2003. They continued to live in the UK for a few years before moving to Spain. A year later she packed her bags, moved back to Norway and cut off all contact to my friend which continues today. She won't even speak to me or anyone associated to my friend.
Fast forward and he's now met an English lady while in Spain and had a daughter who's 2. He wants to move back to the US with them and believes his marriage will not follow him across the pond making him free to marry again.
I would rather he not get arrested for bigamy or attempted bigamy so is anyone able to tell me if this is true or what he may face if he does apply for a marriage licence in the US. He's moving to California.

He won't. As anon C put it, he's an utter moron. He makes shit up in his head while stoned and believes it's fact or saw something on a movie and think it relates to real life. He genuinely believes he'll bring his British girlfriend over on a 6 month tourist visa and in his words " get her paper work done"

Your friend is correct, no problems here. Just make sure he declares his cocaine to customs and he'll be fine.

Can I get some accurate advice please. There is a 2 year old child involved and would hate to see her suffer as she loves both her parents.
I'm sorry I derailed that kook thread about doing coke off your arse.

If he's not listening to you about getting an attorney, why would he listen to you about following the advice of some random person who says she's a lawyer online?

He probably cites you as a highly respected person and would put you on his resume
