Topic: McBecky's review of McDonald's Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger (from Spain's menu!)

Externally hosted imageThis is the first I've had of the fresh-not-frozen beef patty (I haven't had beef at McDonald's in a good five years) so I may be unreasonably impressed, but this is a really solid sandwich. Gouda cheese, smoky garlic aioli, fresh-tasting onion slivers, juicy burger. It's quite impressive. I would probably add tomato or pickle next time to balance the flavors a bit. Overall an 8/10. Thanks.

However, the item that stood out to me the most was Spain's Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger.

The Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger, or GMBB, is a truly gorgeous, greasy beast.

My fingers were dripping with beef fat after the first bite, but it was so worth it. The beef is juicy, juicy, juicy. There's gouda cheese on top and gouda cheese on the bottom. And it tastes like real gouda. The bun is fluffy and toasted, and it thankfully soaks up most of the burger's juices.

The bacon is the same applewood-smoked variety that is in the rest of McDonald's bacon burger offerings. On its own, it's nothing special. However, putting bacon and gouda together on a beef burger was possibly one of the best flavor choices McDonald's has made, period.

There are also onion slivers on this burger, but they don't make much of a difference flavor-wise. What really punches up the flavor is the McBacon sauce, which is a smoky, peppery, tangy, mayo-based sauce that glues all the pieces of the puzzle together.

You wouldn't find the GMBB in La Boqueria in Barcelona, but it definitely tastes better than any US McDonald's burger I've had.

But I miss having McWalter and McCatherine around too. They each brought a different McMastery to the McTable.

Our name is quickly slipping down the Internet's list of premiere fast food review sites. Becky's good, but she shouldn't have to carry the site all on her own.

USAmericans are increasingly traveling to international destinations, and eating McDonalds. Their strange exotic menu baffles and excites these worldly travelers who have asked McDonalds to bring these authentic, traditional cuisine items to USAmerica.
