Topic: Rick Moranis refused to do a cameo in the 2016 remake of Ghostbusters

I wish them well, I hope it's terrific. But it just makes no sense to me. Why would I do just one day of shooting on something I did 30 years ago?
What a jerk!

There are so many once-known actors who take anything for money - especially if it involves getting a paycheck for one day of shooting. Maybe Rick doesn't run out of drugs or have a messy divorce every year like some other actors, but it sounds like pretty easy money. Do you think he has a wildly inflated sense of what he's worth? They got Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, and Sigourney Weaver back. I wonder what the sticking point was for Rick Moranis.

It's funny, I actually once saw Rick Moranis at a grocery store. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

It sounds like he just doesn't want to be in a mediocre movie

LOL Yeah, I'm sure Rick Moranis has deep reservations about tarnishing his image as a serious actor. Also, I'm guessing he only moves forward in time like the rest of us and didn't have any prescient visions about the film or its box office returns.

There's no guarantee he did, especially for a walk-on role. They might not have got any farther than floating an him an offer. Even if he had a finished script to read, I don't think that gives him box office future-sight. I do wonder how much he turned down though.

It should have been a lady Rick Moranis! That was the whole point of the movie

Which actress is the female equivalent of Rick Moranis?

Maybe, not 100% sure on that.
