Flint/Detroit area you say? You think an AK-47 will get you anywhere there?Now, some light armor might be worthy, as long as you have infantry support. Getting a few meat shields won't be difficult with 50% unemployment - they already fight and kill, getting paid is a bonus - so really the only issue would be smuggling in the Soviet relic.

Owning a fully automatic weapon, or even a weapon with a three round burst, or converting a semi-auto weapon to such a weapon is a felony. There are very few exceptions that allow you to own such weapons and they all involve a ton of red tape and a ton of money along with lots of rules and regulations.
Bottom line is, you can't own a full-auto weapon, get over it, and if you do aquire one illegally you're gonna regret it when you get vanned. If you're under 18, all guns are illegal in your case.
When you're 18, just get a nice semi-auto .308 rifle and be happy. It's perfect for hunting, home-defense, recreation, and just about anything else you can think of.
