Are you trying to say that Socialists give money to those who refuse to work?
Consider the supermarket where shoplifting takes place, they call this "shrinkage" Dented cans and out of date meat-produce ends up included in "shrinkage".
There will always be people who are shiftless and lazy and one way or the other society is stuck with them. Left-Right, is stuck with the problem.

To be fair it's all about being a conservative. To pay the minimum to achieve the maximum profit. Not at all stupid. There are smart Democrat business people that also run a business that way.
Those who wish to have large wages, simply need to educate themselves so they can. Or as with Trump, end up with inheritance.

It's not. Few are aware that there is a WIDE range on monthly payout's from Social Security. IF one waits to age 70 and worked as say an Engineer, then the monthly pay out is $4141/month = $49,692 year.
However The estimated average monthly benefit for "all retired workers" in 2019 is $1,461= $17,532/yr
Of course the problem with Social Security is that if that is all one has to live on - That requires one has to live in some kind of nasty place with not enough to eat much or cover car insurance, repairs etc.
And the major problem is they are running out of money and of course congress will probably have to cover that but betting they are NOT about to increase it because the National Debt is already so over the top.

Being an open lefty in those places is a good way to get fired, especially since the first amendment doesn't protect your job when it comes to your political views. I've met plenty of people that hide their power level in such states for this reason. Thankfully it's not like that everywhere.

That's a sizable part of it, yeah. Unions are like anything else, they can be run well or run poorly. They're not a panacea but I don't think it's a coincidence that the decline of organized labor has coincided with the rise in income and wealth inequality. It's hard for one person to convince a company that they're being underpaid because the boss will just fire them and hire someone more desperate for a job. If workers are unionized, they can strike and force the boss to the negotiating table for higher hourly wages or paid vacation days or whatever.
