The historical consensus is that the last homosexual put to death in the UK for having gay sex happened in the 1850s. She came out with a new book that in part attempted to challenge that consensus. She was looking at old criminal cases and noticed that many of them had people accused of sodomy or other "unnatural" sex acts and noticed that the courts sentence for them was "death recorded". She assumed that meant they were executed and their deaths were recorded by the court. Actually it was a legal term of art that means (im not exactly sure) something like the law required them to be dead so they were recorded as dead but actually they were given a different sentence, usually prison time.
