My current server is a 1.5 GHz Intel Core… it’s not terribly useful beyond just a file store.

What I would build would have plenty of capacity to run a Minecraft server. Are there any other uses that MC could get out of it?

I was thinking something more along the lines of -- can be pirated and ran on a cracked server, not minecraft. The Minecraft community already has its following and a server, adding another server is kinda pointless with such a small community of players. Maybe something like starcraft?

Guise, more than one game server will probably run on this beast of a server AC is building, assuming the connection isn't a bottleneck.
Could have a MC SMP and Creative server plus some other game (terraria? lol).

I didn't say it had to be a shooter, TF2 is fine I won't play it, but whatever. There is another type of game players around here, not TF2 or Minecraft players, (Nickalollyoff, Foxygen etc). Fact is if no one plays on a server its worthless and a waste of time, so yeah if you get enough people saying TF2, fine, but I don't think you will (moot point).

Tons of games can be pirated and played on cracked servers. Your argument? Its invalid.

My intention is to bring all the non-Minecraft players together, quite a few of us don't dig TF2, but if we could all agree on something that isn't Minecraft or TF2, that would be pretty sweet. Racing games, flying games, shooting games, civs, there's a ton of options...

It has 3GB RAM, 9400M, dual-core with hyperthreading, and is well-cooled. I think it's somewhat decent as a server, but I don't really know.

Macros really are pointless though. Macros are for people who have to hunt and peck and can't handle more than 3-4 buttons at a time.

Macros work great in some games, slow you down in others. But, maybe some people like the crutch. I can gosu fingers.

Also, part of the strategy is speed. But realistically faster does mean more wins. Not always, but if your strategy is a timing based plan, then speed is your tactic.

Oh, and accuracy > speed. You can be faster than me APM wise, but if i'm more accurate then it doesn't matter how fast you are --i'll have better timing and win.
