I really want to have one.
I don't believe in astral projection or the paranormal or anything but I don't see why this should be a barrier. I still enjoy playing GTA V even though I know Franklin, Trevor, and Michael are fictional characters and the state of San Andreas doesn't exist. Astral projection should be the same, enjoyable even though it's not real.

I had one unexpectedly one time, and tried again at same place, but could never get it to happen again.
There was this old rock wall that was built in the early 1900s. And I used to lay on top of it at night and look at the stars and moon.
One night I fixated my sight on one star. Didn't move, didn't blink. I don't know how much time had passed, but I could literally feel my inner self lifting up out of my body. Then I blinked and it was back to normal.
Maybe try something like that?

I haven't thought of that. So far I've been trying sensory deprivation with no success (I did get some hardcore relaxation out of it) but I will have to try fixing my attention on a single point.
