The Battle of Puebla was significant, both nationally and internationally, for several reasons. First, although considerably outnumbered, the Mexicans defeated a much-better-equipped French army. "This battle was significant in that the 4,000 Mexican soldiers were greatly outnumbered by the well-equipped French army of 8,000 that had not been defeated for almost 50 years."

Many believe the French were tired of their bland food and needed spice in their life.

May I suggest you add this day of celebration to your life style -

Ramadan - Web says it begins as Sunset today:
While fasting from dawn until sunset, Muslims refrain from consuming food, drinking liquids, smoking, and engaging in sexual relations. Muslims are also instructed to refrain from sinful behavior that may negate the reward of fasting, such as false speech (insulting, backbiting, cursing, lying, etc.) and fighting except in self-defense

and fighting except in self-defense

In Palestine for 3 days in a row them Arabs decided to attempt to blow up Israel as a way to get something, but few people have a clue how this blowing up next door neighbor will lead to success for open borders and StateHood.

Dreamworks may have the solution in the palms of his hands because no doubt this fracas will excite him.

Doubt many Arabs will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo and only a few will partake in Carnitas.

I am also always in search of the many variations of Salsas many which do NOT have tomatoes. The variations of DRIED Peppers rather than Fresh because much like how the Asians have discovered that drying Mushrooms concentrates the flavors and provides a different Texture Dried Peppers provide much the fresh cannot - Of course Fresh as with the Pablano are truly wonderful

Imagine if someone fired 300 rockets at a Muslim country. We'd all be wearing burkinis in solidarity

Palestine does not have the talent to build jet aircraft and even an airport so they fire mortar shells and invite Israel jets in for precision bombs.

Cinco de Mayo is only celebrated in the states, bc beer and wine manufacturers pushed for it in the 80's. As a means to sell more beer and wine. Thanks.

Every 5 May, the Netherlands marks the end of Nazi Germany occupation during World War II with a range of events and celebrations on this Dutch public holiday.

Bust out your Dutch flags and wave them high and proud because it’s that time of the year again: Liberation Day.

The Liberation Festivals taking place across the country are a highlight of Liberation Day. The festivals will have extensive musical programmes and big-name acts relating to the theme of freedom. At various spots throughout the country, Dutch bands and international musicians and DJs will perform live.
