And there's this incredible looking Swedish girl having a cappuccino across the street from Lincoln Center
I started talking to her, you know
And she said her name was Lola
Her English wasn't too good, you know
But we wound up spending about 5 hours together just hanging out, you know
So we go back to my place, we get high, and we get really into each other, man
It was love about to happen, I'm serious
And then all of a sudden she gets up and she says
She says, "Hey, I really gotta leave"
Damn

Those are examples, not a definition. Define it please, because Zeppelin and Bob Dylan couldn't be more different.

So you're saying it means any "rock" music (plus Bob Dylan apparently) which is enjoyed by people born after 1945?

That's why I find the term so confusing. I never really think of the enjoyment of music as being a generational thing, except of course with cliquey insecure teenagers who use musical taste as a way of belonging to one group and laughing at all the others.

Which "Dads"? I know fathers who are 19 years old and listen to hip hop, and I know fathers who are in their 80s who listen to Rachmaninov's piano sonatas. What is this obsession you have with connecting men who have procreated and music tastes?

Is it a requirement for this 4-decade span of men to have sired children? Or does it not include the childless?

"Cringey" to whom? Why would anyone "cringe" over liking a song? It seems like the kind of thing only angsty teens who are desperate to fit in would do. What for example is cringey about The Beatles, they were probably the most important band the last century. Or Zeppelin, or Floyd, and so on. I don't get why someone would cringe over a tune like When The Levee Breaks or Comfortably Numb.

> In 10 years time there will be dadhop

I'm still not understanding the "dad" connection. Will dadhop only be enjoyed by those with children? Why don't the childless have musical labels?

I know a father who enjoys everything from pop to rock to metal to classical. He's 43 years old. And I know a guy with no children who also enjoys everything from pop to rock to metal to classical. He's also 43. That's why I find these silly labels rather meaningless.

What is the "current generation"? Define it please. Because earlier you said 'dadrock' can apply to people born anywhere from 1945 to 1981, so what "current generation" are you referring to now in your updated definition?

Not at all. It just amuses me when people use terms without being to give a coherent definition of those terms mean. It's one of the main reasons I enjoy making mincemeat of atheists!
