No. If any little white-pride boy even read through half of Herbert's original Dune, they would have found out pretty quickly that his future held no hope for them in that book. No matter what SciFi series had flashing blue eyes. It's kind of like proud little white boys pretending to own to the okay symbol or anything else to feel big.
It's just small people flashing a big thing to feel big.

No worries. The David Lynch movie is awesome, but I'm biased. I love David Lynch. If you've read the books, every piece of that footage makes sense. I don't care what the haters say.
Anyhow. Read the books. Seriously, I often just listen to Chapterhouse on audiobook. It's a goddamn adventure across generations of humanity.

The alt right is now using LGBTQ as a racist dog whistle because it stands for "Let's Go Beat The Queers" and accounts that have LGBTQ in their name are actually the parody accounts of racists.

@989,303 (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC) > The okay symbol thing is a joke
It was a joke. Some people didn't get it. When you have proud boys posing for photos making the okay sign and the NZ shooter showing up to court flashing it at the cameras, it's safe to say some idiots aren't in on your joke and are taking it seriously.

But even then they are doing it ironically. It started because people said I'll bet we can pick anything and spread rumors that it's a white pride symbol and people will run with it. It worked and then people started using it ironically. Like milk being a white pride symbol.

Because it was a forced symbol to be funny. It would be like white supremacists saying that the peace sign is a secret Zionist hate symbol and Jewsish people start doing it because it is funny

It's become a thing taken seriously by some people whether you want to admit that or not. You can keep saying "It's a joke" but it isn't to some people.

This isn't fucking pewdiepie. He killed a fuckton of people, and then makes this sign in his first public appearance. What the fuck do you think? He's just joking around now that he's on trial?
How many serial killers have you scrutinized photos of for some clue about secret symbols or expressions that betrayed something they really thought. Now that it's shoved in your face you refuse to see it like it's a joke? You're kind of blind, and if you're as much a part of that world as you seem to be, a little fucking stupid to not get it right off the bat.

I think that he threw in a lot of shit (yes including memes) to sew discord and controversy purposely. I believe that also why he said subscribe to Pewdiepie and had that meme written on his gun.
I don't thonk that I'm expkaining this properly, so Im probably wrong.

Look, I watched it happen too. It thought it was funny as well. It was a little gesture that people did harmlessly. I thought it was a cute bit of culture jamming at first to pretend it was a white power symbol. What I'm asking you to believe is that the joke has taken on a life of its own. People are now doing this unironically. It's not always a joke. Some people are taking it very seriously. I think maybe, given the frequency with which people like to burn mosques and shoot up synagogues now, we should stop writing it off as "just a joke" quite so easily.
I'm not proposing anything crazy, like all the reruns of Happy Days where Fonzie makes the OK symbol be branded as racial bigotry. I'm just saying, it has morphed into something new now. It's not so easy to write off.

Thanks. Your affirmation is a weird feeling. It's almost hard not to disagree with you out of habit just to start an argument again. But I won't. I agree too.
