Mine accumulate in perpetuity along with sick hours. I also get 8 hours a year for my birthday that are separate from vac time (never use) and 24 floating holiday hours that you lose if you don’t take them

The floating holidays yes. They are for stupid state holidays where there’s no work but you can show up if you want. ie Cesar Chavez Day, Lincoln’s Birthday, and Columbus Day (which we don’t get even though it’s a federal holiday because California doesn’t like Columbus or something). You can show up to work on those days and loaf around or use them like normal vacation hours. I just take the designated days off because it won’t mess with my work load if I do
