Two asshats grandstanding their ideas aren't "debating" in any sense. The amount of crowd draw or applause isn't a measure of how right someone is. It's like thinking that the number of people texting a reality show is somehow indicative of how right one person is about that one argument where you totally disrespected that girl's sister.
