Topic: Pope Francis tweets his condolences and divine comfort to the people of France
Father Merrin !u5oFWxmY7U started this discussion 7 years ago#86,065
"Today we unite in prayer with the people of France, as we wait for the sorrow inflicted by the serious damage to be transformed into hope with reconstruction. Holy Mary, Our Lady, pray for us. #NotreDame"
Earlier, he also reminded us of the message of Holy Week:
"Christ, out of love, sacrificed himself completely in order to save you. His outstretched arms on the cross are the most telling sign that he is a friend who is willing to stop at nothing. #HolyWeek"

You're young but a long time ago there used to be a very large cathedral in France called Notre Dame. God let it burn down.

There still is.

Why do you believe this?

Ok great, so if I wanted to go explore it and pray there I can still do that? > Why do you believe this?
Because it happened. Things that happen are things that God allows to happen, unless you are saying God could not have prevented the fire.

So you've accepted that the church still exists, even if it's temporarily closed. Good, because that really was a stunningly silly thing you wrote earlier :)
"Sorry sir, the restaurant is closed for the evening"
"Then it no longer exists!!"
> so if I wanted to go explore it and pray there I can still do that?
Knock yourself out.

Can you prove this?
> Ever faction of the Catholic church has abused children and nuns for centuries.
Can you prove this?

@previous (Father Merrin !u5oFWxmY7U) > Every faction of the Catholic church has abused children and nuns for centuries.
Common knowledge. Until the fire yesterday the very mention of the Catholic church evoked the term pedophilia. Recently in the news with apology by Pope, was abuse of Nuns. Nuns turned into sex slaves and forced abortions by priests.
The fire will take the heat off the church for a while until the next exposure by the press as they continue to uncover rape of children by priests.
