It makes me uncomfortable and I don't have great responses to a lot of pro-life arguments. I still think it should be legal but ugh, it really is violent dismemberment, isn't it?

Depends how late in term the pregnancy is. A lot of abortions are just someone taking a pill and waiting. Late term abortions are pretty gruesome but usually done only out of necessity.

I only know one person who had the pill (that I know of at least) and she found it messy, horrid, and completely traumatizing. A miscarriage of course is also a traumatic event. idk. Even an early abortion is brutal in a lot of ways.

Yes they pull the babies apart. Many young women make choices they regret later in their lives and carry the guilt.

Yeah I know someone who had a pill abortion too and it was an awful experience for them. This is why you need to teach contraception use in schools. There's not really a good way to have an abortion but making women go through the medical risks of childbearing and then having to care for a child they cannot provide for, or putting a child into an already over-capacity foster care system isn't humane either.

I agree. It's a pretty brutal process tbqh. You're basically destroying a fetus and sucking it out. Also you're killing a potential human. Sometimes that might be the right choice, like if you know the child has a severe genetic defect or the pregnancy is really high risk for the mother but I imagine it's something that would be difficult to accept, psychologically.
