When developed countries are in trouble (as so often happens to any country) and they find themselves having to squeeze the social budget, don't you think there's a chance of hideous souls coming out of the woodwork? What i mean is that there's fragile people out there being held together with cheap glue, some modest help from society, but when they no longer get what they need from society they'll go in it and take it.

So it's going to start with some bad news about the economy (again) but it's all going to be okay as long as big cuts are made. One or two months later, we have a lot of desperate people who were already desperate from before except now it's life or death for them and they, as well as their demons, are starving now.

We're talking about people here though. The best solution it seems, is to try and make it a more forgiving place for them. However, some would say that the whole idea of social security is under fire.
