It is rare that we see a traditional take on a traditional meal from such an artist. A remarkably steady shot of a double cheese burger, fries, and ketchup. The sesame seed bun and fries come through in searing clarity in this photo, the oily warm oranges and yellows burning through the picture. The fries seem to be arranged like a creature ready to devour the neat pool of ketchup. Or perhaps they are reaching out to satisfy some thirst within them like a parched man stretching out sunburnt arms into the soothing water of an oasis, hardly believing what he sees before him.

In the upper right we see the artists blurry finger reminding us that, as perfect as the scene is, this is merely art and we cannot eat of the scene before us. Like a medieval scribe putting intentional imperfections in his work to remind us that no one but God is perfect, the appearance of the artist's finger serves at once to remind us of the humility of the artist and his great skill. He is willing to set up the perfect shot and deny it to us. That struggle within the photographer mirrors the struggle of the viewer who is tempted to eat what is seen in the picture but cannot.
