Before the current guy in Syria, there was Hafez al-Assad. Hafez got really bitter and lost all hope after getting back stabbed by Kissinger in some kind of diplomatic conflict involving Isreal. It is said that he wrote to Kissinger, he wrote that what he had done (Kissinger) would awaken meny demons in the middle east.

I think the best threads end up being rather small, we confuse big with good but size doesn't matter.
