Yeah, they were running around the house, and everyone else was kinda laughing as we tried to tell them it was a test. They were pretty confused.

Maybe you should stage full blown drills next time. Block the front door with sandbags. Run around wearing a snorkel and swim fins shouting orders. Put a giant inflatable raft in the living room. Just make sure they get into the spirit of the whole thing.
