I'm actually trying to find videos about Mireille Mathieu.
OH FUCK. NAZIS? DO WE HAVE NAZIS! I WAS TRYING TO FIND A VERSION OF LA MARSEILLAISE. I GUESS WE'RE WATCHING SHIT ABOUT NAZIS NOW!
Maybe if EVERY-fucking-THING didn't suddenly tend toward NAZIS in less than six clicks. Maybe you can find an algorithm that actually shows me French music or something. I don't need Ben Shapiro or Richard Spencer whining about getting punched.
Holy shit. Maybe you guys could could not be a shit tabloid collection of piece of crap leftover bullshit.
I really just wanted a version of Mireille Mathieu singing La Marseillaise. Holy fuck, I didn't expect a goddamn FOX News race war. Fuck the fuck off.

Seriously? Is there a way YouTube can find an algorithm that shows me shit I want to see? I feel like they've probably put a lot of work into that. They've maybe failed?

Me: Hey, I wanna hear a French song.
Youtube: DID you know they fought the NAZIs in WWII??
Me: Yeah, that's a thing. Actually, I was curious about...
Youtube: Nazis!?
Me: No. Actually I was interested in the...
Youtube: HITLER?
Me: No...
Youtube: Did you need to know about the THIRD REICH?
Me: Never mind. This is fucking useless.

It's better than the algorithm sending folk to jailbait in 6 clicks

They show stuff you're interested in based on your browsing data, maybe you shouldn't be such a naziboo.

If you watch any political videos at all you'll get an alt right/alt light video in your feed fairly quickly. I use YouTube 95% for sports, cooking, and video game related channels but like the one or two political channels I subscribe to means I'll get a recommendation for a 3 hour interview with Ben Shapiro or whatever. Despite the fact that our politics are incredibly different and the last thing I want to do is listen to him misunderstand his way through things he barely understands for an 8th of my day.
Not that Ben is alt right. He's just regular old right.

YouTube doesn't want you to be radicalized further so they encourage you to be more normal and offer you videos with normal political opinions. It's not a left-wing soy based hugbox.
I get rich white socialists crying about how they empathize with poor black people in my feed all the time. But I watch people with normal political opinions like Ben Shapiro, whom is my favorite Jew.

I don't watch socialists but idk if Ben Shapiro is exactly normal. He's not really that informed and sucks at characterizing the opinions of anyone who disagrees with him. Maybe that is par for the course with the current crop of conservative "intellectuals" though.

Also, recognizing that talking with you is engaging with someone whose two main political motivating forces are bad faith and trolling, the fact that I am being shown right wing videos and you are being shown left wing videos reveals that they are treating our politics video consumption as equal but opposite phenomena subject to the same algorithms. If I'm radical then you are and vice versa. But you knew that!
