Universal Basic Income. Basically all citizens of a country get a check each month from the government to help maintain a basic standard of living. It would theoretically fill the same role that social safety net programs like welfare, food stamps etc. do but would require less overhead/administrative costs and is less restrictive.

I’d support it if it supplanted WIC, Medicare, food stamps, and Social Security.

Why not just let anyone in need have access to $50-day cash from any ATM. Tie cash amount to cost of living. Make all hospitals free of cost. They did an experiment similar to that with a vending machine in a European country (I think the U.K.) where poor people received debit cards that only work with vending machines that had basic living subsidies and tolitries.
