Topic: UBI is only supported by lazy people who want to get paid to do drugs and play video games all day.

Guaranteed jobs programs are better, especially if they are used to develop public goods, like building roads, bridges, rail networks, expanding broadband internet coverage, etc.

This topic is mostly made to disagree with DreamWorks and may or may not be serious.

Universal Basic Income. Basically all citizens of a country get a check each month from the government to help maintain a basic standard of living. It would theoretically fill the same role that social safety net programs like welfare, food stamps etc. do but would require less overhead/administrative costs and is less restrictive.

I’d support it if it supplanted WIC, Medicare, food stamps, and Social Security.

Otherwise it’s just going to increase the cost of living and make the big businesses it taxes cut costs by passing the cost of the tax onto consumers.

Externally hosted imageWhy not just let anyone in need have access to $50-day cash from any ATM. Tie cash amount to cost of living. Make all hospitals free of cost. (Might limit face lifts and penis length decrease and boob jobs)

They did an experiment similar to that with a vending machine in a European country (I think the U.K.) where poor people received debit cards that only work with vending machines that had basic living subsidies and tolitries.

Thing is with SNAP you can do shady stuff like let someone else use your card in exchange for cash that you can use to buy booze or drugs. The vending machine idea prevents that.

It been an amazing mind control revolution that can organize sad-sack gamers that sit around and play video games all day to revolt against a basic income that pays you for sitting around playing video games all day.

Please. Keep protesting. We need posters here at Minichan.
