Why did God even put us here? Just to suffer? All this and hell too?

@OP

> Why did God even put us here?

To know and love Him and His creation.

> Just to suffer?

To live is, generally, to suffer; but to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering. Through suffering lies revelation. The soul does not develop and is not strengthened in a condition of ease and quiet.

> All this and hell too?

Repent of your sins and you won't need to worry about Hell. I can help you with this, if you want to make a confession.

I repent of my sins daily and sincerely. Surely a good thing could happen here and there, though. How is a man supposed to maintain sanity if only bad things happen to him?

But it's not true that "only bad things" happen to you. You're being self-indulgent. I suggest you read the Book of Job, and then the Lamentations of Jeremiah. Much wisdom and succour lie therein.

I have those books in Hebrew. All they do is prove that life sucks.

With respect, I think you haven't understood the message of Job (and certainly not of Jeremiah). Continue to study, think, and self-reflect.

Job got everything back in the end. Real people never do.

No he didn't. What he lost was not returned.

> Real people never do.

And neither did Job.

Um, yes he did. Go read the end of the book right now, and then we’ll talk.

Sorry my friend but you really and truly have not understood the meaning of the Book of Job (I'm not even convinced you've read it). If your wife is killed and some time later you take another wife, has what was lost been given back? If a mother loses her child, and then some time later she has another child, has the same thing been returned to her? Has the anguish of loss instantly been erased? Did you think the message of Job was about acquisition?

"God, why do I suffer?
"Do you believe you are at a level to understand My answer?"
"I don't care, just give me my cows back!"

That was the meaning of the Book for you?

I say again, your problem is not the 'cruel' world that surrounds you but rather a chronic self-indulgence that skews your perception of the world.

He got the same ones back. Go read the end! I am not kidding! Also, please read it in Hebrew to make it clearer.

Oh so you're just being silly. Fair enough. To be honest I'm glad, it's better you're playing around than you're actually as depressed as you were sugesting. Have a blessed day!

I close my eyes, only for a moment, and the moment's gone
All my dreams pass before my eyes, a curiosity
Dust in the wind
All they are is dust in the wind
Same old song, just a drop of water in an endless sea
All we do crumbles to the ground though we refuse to see
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Oh, ho, ho
Now, don't hang on, nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away
And all your money won't another minute buy
Dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
All we are is dust in the wind
Dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind
Everything is dust in the wind

He didn't. God gave him different things than were taken away (which is why the final verses specifically name Job's 3 new daughters).
