I had to Google this to find out what it was all about. I had never heard of it. My opinion is worth that of some guy who just read about it on the Internet. I don't know much about trends in clinical psychology. KL would have a more informed opinion about this or, at least, might have heard of it at some point.
From what I have read in the past hour, it looks like some CBT and guided visualization paired with reinforcing physical stimuli to help reduce stress, anxiety, recurring traumatic memories, fear, and the like. It doesn't sound like anything too wacky, and it seems plausible that an approach like that might work for some people. I can imagine a cognitive behavioral therapist trying this kind of thing with a patient. It doesn't strike me as too different from some treatments of phobias or panic attacks that have been around for years.
Do I believe it works? I have no fucking clue if it works, and I've never tried it. It doesn't sound completely bonkers though.

What's the deal with ASMR? I don't get it. It's just like people breathing into microphones and shit.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation? It sounds more dangerous than necessary for minimal benefit, and I don't think it helps with PTSD. Universal Basic Income might help relieve stress. We should probably try it in order to make sure though.

I like using a purring cat, personally. Very relaxing. Sometimes you can even get the cat to play with some crinkly plastic too.

I heard that and tried it but I just can't get anything out of it. It's like those Magic Eye 3D images that were popular in the '90s. I just could never see the hidden 3D image.

Oh gosh it's hard because it's different for everyone. I like the account called Saloon and massage because it's dealt relaxing but only rarely triggers ASMR for me.

I could never see them either. Like that character in Mall Rats, who spends the whole movie trying to see the sailboat. I never saw any sailboat, or car, or anything.
