Topic: I am thinking of applying to work for the US Forestry Service.

They have openings in my birth state, and I think I would really enjoy the work involved. I know it won't necessarily be a glamorous job, or an easy job, but I am giving serious consideration to it. What do you think, forum?

No, but part of the job is protecting the wildlife. I would get a pistol, but I would not use it on anything that wasn't posing a direct threat to me or another human life.

I considered it when I was younger but never pursued it. It'll really suck though if there's a forest fire. You'll be out helping to put it out.

Basically, I would mainly be putting up signs, and scouting out areas, to ensure there are no dangerous animals in the area. Along with several other tasks.

S&R is mainly done by volunteer groups, in conjunction with forest rangers, so it is a possibility I would end up doing some S&R.
