Topic: The mosque shootings in New Zealand

It's a strange feeling, having a mass shooting in New Zealand. The only one I've known is Aramoana from when I was a child.

It's a shameful and upsetting thing to have this cowardly attack happen here. There really isn't an anti Muslim sentiment that I know of. There is a general anti immigration sentiment, but Muslims are not a part of the discussion. The majority of anti immigration is aimed at an influx of Chinese ownership of land and resources driving up prices, and cheap unskilled workers overstaying their visas, driving down wages and working illegally. Their religion isn't part of that conversation.

I fear that there will be a retaliation against New Zealand citizens for an act carried out by an Australian. I fear that Muslims here will then be targeted again if that happens, but by New Zealanders. This is exactly what the gunman wants to have happen. I think it might. If the situation were reversed, I think for sure there would be a retaliation against Muslims.

I hope this isn't the start of more violence to come.

American media are standing on a pile of bodies while they virtue signal about racism and try to blame someone other than the terrorist. People are still in critical condition in hospital ffs...
Thoughts and prayers have been posted on social media, it'll be out of your news cycle in a day.

Maybe we can ban Aussies from subscribing to pewdiepie or something

virtue signalling means they don't really care though. don't ordinary people actually hate all the racist bullshit we have now? I know I do.

I can't read a fucking youtube comment area without hitting it for example
