Is it worth it to get a different gpu?

Definitely. I suggest you get the 6850 or the 6870, depending on how much you're willing to spend.

Prices drop fairly quickly in the tech market, if you could hold off a year you could get something much better for the money. Also, spending money when don't really need to is bad practice.

Some of those good GPUs can sap up to a couple hundred watts at max load. Not sure about those ATI cards suggested up there, but I'm just saying that it's something to pay attention to.
