The concepts are based upon the idea of limited resources. There isn't enough of everything that anyone could ever want everywhere, and so it is possible for people who have supply to make money by selling to people who demand. When there is a lot of demand, it is easier for a seller to make more money by merely raising the price. And so on. Complications include manufacturing a lot more, enough to take advantages of economies of scale to reduce cost but also increasing supply at the same time.

Based on the series Star Trek. Year 2365 people no longer needed monetary remuneration. Series does not tell us what year this came to be.
So one day everything will be free, but that does not mean anyone one own a Enterprise class spacecraft. They might have to settle for something smaller.
