50ml of Guinness for every 500g of beef makes your burger delicious!

If you were to use Google. You will discover how quickly the alcohol cooks off in total.

as long as it simmers for a lil you're good. beer really doesn't leave that overt alcohol taste either, so you should be good there 2. you can cook with wine, but i'd really cook it down and use less if you don't want a cravin'

Yeah but I'm worried I'd drink it if I had it in the house.

I've cooking wine in the store. They put a lot of salt in it which makes it undrinkable but I think it would also mess up the flavor of whatever you cook with it.

Protip: Enjoy a nice six or seven shot epic cocktail immediately after placing burgers upon the grill...let cook for a couple of minutes on each side..

The burgers will be delicious..

Cooking wine is a travesty and should never be used

Cooking wine is just wine you drink while you're cooking, right?

Well the levels involved are very small, 1.2fl oz for every 1.1lb, and a lot of the alcohol itself cooks off during the heating stage, but the stout mingles with the taste of the beef and makes it taste very nice.

I would recommend buying a single can perhaps and pour away when you're done

Do you agree with the rule that you should only cook with wine you'd enjoy drinking?

Externally hosted imagePresenting A Whiskey Cheese Burger - Served with Guinness beer.

Angus beef patties are stuffed with crumbled blue cheese, then basted with a lip smacking whiskey glaze. Topped off with a melted slice of a classic Irish cheese, a bit more of the glaze, and a generous helping of Guinness caramelized onions… these blue cheese burgers will knock your socks off!

It should be drinking quality. But I think you can cook with a wine you wouldn't personally drink because of flavor preferences or whatever and it can still be good in a dish. Thanks.

Fun Fact: That's how the song Champagne Supernova got its name. One day before brunch, the Gallagher brothers ran out of champagne for their mimosas and followed some directions that they had found on the web.
