A crazy serial killer who's trying to steal a kid's identity and body with evil voodoo magic. That's a good movie. It has the whole innocence vs evil thing going on, it has the strength of a bond between mother and child in it too. After the first film, this fact was forgotten and chucky became like a parody and I'm worried about the 2019 reboot getting it wrong too.

Disagree entirely. The 1st one was good but the 2nd was much better, and remains the best of the series. 3 had its moments but suffers from having Andy Barclay not being a kid anymore, yet somehow being much more cowardly than his younger self. The jokey ones that followed are just that - comedies (although Cult of Chucky was a slight return to form).
