Your computer may recognize that you are trying to send a signal to it, and switch to a mic in port. Though, I can not guarantee this, and have only seen Realtek audio drivers do it.

At extra low voltage which is what a phone and laptop output... nothing would happen. You would most likely confuse both units and they would stop outputting as a saftymeasure.

Okay I just remembered I have an old Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 and an old Huawei something or other shit phone I don't care about. So I tried connecting them and played "What is Love" by Haddaway on both, max volume, connected to each other with an aux cable.
