Topic: Crunchbang install problem on Dell Inspron mini netbook

I'm trying to install Crunchbang on a Dell Inspiron Mini Netbook. I've installed it both to a thumbdrive and the harddrive, when I boot from either of them it gets to the "GRUB loading. Welcome to GRUB!" screen and just stops. But the install of it that I have on the thumbdrive works and boots fine in any other computer.
How do I fix and/or get past this? I really don't want to use Ubuntu any more

Install Debian then install Openbox yourself? That's all the #! team does.

I know, I tried to do so with ubuntu, but I'm just not smart enough to configure it all as properly as they do. Witch is why I want to use Crunchbang! I LOVE Crunchbag. But for some reason it just won't load past the "Welcome to GRUB screen" on this netbook. I can install Ubuntu on the netbook and it works fine. And the install of Crunchbang I have of an external Thumbdrive boots in any other computer, just not this one.
WHY!?
