Topic: Everyone says you can get ThinkPad laptops for dirt cheap.

Some even say below $100, but that smells like bullshit since every time I go to eBay looking for one they are well above $100. Where the hell are people finding these things for below $100?

I just typed "ThinkPad sale" into Google for shopping results and found a P50 15.6" through Walmart for $119.95 and a E570 Non-Touch 15.6" for $120. I don't see anything below $100 though. Not sure what model you're talking about.

ThinkPads are shite. I always quietly curse clients who insist on using old VGA ThinkPads and somehow think I should carry every ancient video adaptor to get their old shit to work

Because you're going to be a student for another 12 or more years, be willing to spend up to $125 for a Thinkpad -

Doesn't that mean to another school. 4-8-12 years. If you could afford the $100 router you can afford to spend more on a laptop.

2006 called, and wants its CPU back.

If your point is that a 2006 CPU is not up with the current technological times? You fail.

Unless of course you are using a Intel Core2 Duo and even then it has all the power needed to correct a simple spelling error.
