Topic: Cooking with Cathy Issue #1: Authentic Taco Bell Triple Layer Nachos
Catherine !ttGirlsPl2 started this discussion 7 years ago#84,313
For those who have a strong craving for all things Taco Bell. One particular favorite that some may have are the Triple Layer Nachos which could be found on the appropriately named Dollar Cravings Menu. But what if I told you that you can achieve the same effect at home meaning that you do not have to run out to the fast food chain every time you need your fix? In this inaugural issue of Cooking with Cathy I am going to go through the steps of crafting your very own Triple Layer Nachos. It is a very simple and easy recipe so this issue maybe a little short.
Now if you eat at Taco Bell a lot then you may have a surplus of hot sauce collected from the restaurants. Go to your storage and pull out about 2 to 3 packets. Mild is preferred as this would be most authentic, but there is nothing against using the Hot or Fire variants.
To start your process to delicious Triple Layer Nachos, you want to cook yourself up some refried beans. It could be any brand and this doesn't necessarily have to be the Taco Bell brand found at your local supermarket. Any brand of refried beans would do.
Once you have that ready, put the beans over tortilla chips and pull out your nacho cheese sauce. I personally prefer Montecito branded nacho cheese, but any would work. You may also desire to put the cheese in a separate microwave safe bowl and head it up for around 5 to 10 seconds. Once that is done, pour the cheese over the tortilla chips and beans.
Now this is where you would add your Taco Bell hot sauce to the mix. Open one corner of the packet and then pour evenly across the dish until it looks like something that you paid a buck for at the actual restaurant.
And wa-lah, you have just created yourself some Triple Layer Nachos without having to go out to your nearest Taco Bell restaurant. You even saved yourself a dollar and some sales tax.

If you told me Taco Bell puts something highly addictive in their nacho cheese, I wouldn't be at all surprised.

This is not “cooking”. This is pouring canned, processed food on other canned, processed food and heating it up.

Do you know what the process of heating up food in order to create a meal is called?

It is not cooking if you are heating up pre-cooked, canned, processed food. No offense.

You're making a statement that is supposed to offend the OP. Ending the statement of your opinion with "no offense" implies that you understand you are stating something that can be considered offensive.

Remember this Can of pretend Indian Curry? Back when you made youtube back when you were going for a PhD in totally useless languages - You told everyone how to make a Indian Curry dish.
You just open the lid and poured it into a skillet and added a couple other items and declared it Curry.
I think for what it is/was Cathy done good and I C I get to use this image once again

Yep I did NOT make that up and a number of people still here watched those videos - Odd thing about his youtubes - He never bothered to clean his kitchen or Apt - Stove and or hot plates were always filthy - Clothes strewn across the room - and stove was rite next to toilet which of course made sense.
