Externally hosted imageone feels almost compelled to give her a box of chocolate donuts, a dose of Midol, and send her to bed with a heating pad.

They're going to introduce a period emoji soon and I've got a feeling its going to backfire horribly

Her mood is sometimes as foul as her greasy meatfarts.

Women are irrational and act emotionally unlike men who commit 90% of all violent crime.

Hitting your chin with a sledgehammer will pop the pimple on it but it's probably not actually in the aggregate fixing anything.

The only things popping your pimples are the balls hitting your chin.

A graphic of some blood-stained panties. Some activists held a competition for a new period emoji and that won the competition, but then they got all butthurt because the people actually in charge of emojis turned it down in favor of a blood drop (which was actually proposed by activists in favor of donating blood). If you read the selection factors for emoji inclusion and exclusion then it's quite clear why a period panties emoji would be turned down.

> “The drop of blood feels like a half-measure,” said Megan Vaughan, a 35-year-old writer and PhD student in Essex. “It’s like giving us one of those nudge-nudge emojis, like the aubergine is, rather than actually giving us anything that really represents the reality of menstruation. The red droplet still has this sense of shame about it. Like it wants to talk about periods but not in too open a way, not in the kind of way that might offend delicate, largely male, sensibilities.”

The truth is that it's less about delicate male sensibilities and more about the following factors:

> Can the concept be represented by another emoji or sequence, even if the image is not exactly the same?
? is more open-ended and can be used for more concepts than just menstruation.

> Is it often requested of the Unicode Consortium, or of Unicode member companies?
> Petitions are not normally considered as evidence, since they are too easily skewed
> If an existing emoji (or sequence of emoji) is close to the proposed emoji – close enough to be confused at emoji sizes (such as 18x18 pixels) – that is a strong negative factor.
?
> Does the candidate emoji have notable metaphorical references or symbolism?

In the case of period panties, no it doesn't. It's a straightforward representation of a single thing.

Finally, look at the list of new emoji:

https://emojipedia.org/emoji-12.0/

Most of them are clearly aimed at inclusion for minorities and people with disabilities. So the idea that period panties was turned down because Unicode Consortium have "delicate male sensibilities" is flat out WRONG

They will likely choose the calendar with blood on it to avoid eggplant sex with vulva.
