Topic: My IPE came today.

Catherine !ttGirlsPl2 started this discussion 7 years ago #84,001

The current plan is fast food service. Though they apparently have a few services that are being provided like clothes thanks to Burington and transportation. I have no idea what any of this means so I am going to have to make another appointment with my counselor. I just hope these jobs take me with zero work experience. They are only so much the DoR can do. The rest is on me.

Fast food places don't care about work experience lol

1. What's an IPE?
2. Why fast food service - don't you have three associate's degrees?

@965,739 (MR STEVEN MNUCHIN)
They do up here.

@previous (E)
When did I ever say I have 3 associate's degrees? I said I would graduate with 3 associate's degrees.

@965,736 (Kook !!rcSrAtaAC)
It's written in legal jumbo in some places and some of the services they cover is put down very vaguely. Like "Transportation," what exactly does that mean? Bus passes, Lift, what?

I suppose I wood ask why you have failed to look in2 a local set of operations run by the Feds where you live. They have a slew of job openings and starting pay by comparison to minimum wage is HIGH Very High. Multiple locations close by U - Yes many of the jobs require experience you do not have but but they say "You will find a diverse workforce employed from entry level jobs to senior management positions." "Responsible for time and attendance record keeping of all assigned employees."

"Travel may be required for training." Says no experience required because they will train you. Says there is room for promotion AND AND I find this shocking for real - Pay is $45,311.15
*Based on the 2017 average.

Job Description
Clerical, secretary, and administrative positions fall under this category. No specialized technical background is needed for positions in this category except for stenographers which require a proficiency exam before being hired.

Hummmmmm for some reason the pay is actually and this is the starting pay $46,558.29

Cathy no BS and I mean it - So how come you have not looked at these places and surprised you have not visited or maybe you have? LOTS and LOTS of your towns people work there

Wouldn't it be better to get one masters degree instead of three associate degrees? ?

I mean if you're spending six years in college:

Year 0: Start College
Year 2: Associate's Degree
Year 4: Bachelor's Degree
Year 6: Master's Degree

vs:

Year 0: Start College
Year 2: Associate's Degree #1
Year 4: Associate's Degree #2
Year 6: Associate's Degree #3

Just go apply at McDonald's. Geez. Why do you need an entire system with counselors to tell you that? Go fill out an application. It is not that hard.

Lying on your resume for an entry level job won't get you in trouble.
I do think that you should stick with your current plan, though. After this long, there is no point in rushing things
