I am a United states citizen. I personally can attest to my family being U.S. citizens as far back as the Cival War era...beyond that I do not know..

Utilizing benefits for a minute...is okay...they are there to help out in a pinch...I have used foodstamps three time...for brief periods...two of those times I was homeless and once when I was working a minimum wage job and struggling to get used to paying a few bills... key word is- brief..
Soooooooo many get on them and stay on them for YEARS though...and then their children do it...it becomes a lifestyle for them and they should be outed and shamed and forced to make recompense..
